Deliverable 3.2.1. Development of a common marketing strategy for tourism development (Part A – Research, Study & Analysis)
The overall objective of the TOURISM-e project is to integrate information, products and services concerning sites related to the cultural heritage from projects that have already been implemented in the cross-border area of Greece and Bulgaria through cooperation between the central tourism policy bodies in the two countries and the creation of a new central platform.
The main purpose of the study is to develop a common marketing strategy for the cross-border area of Greece and Bulgaria. It includes a conceptual framework on marketing and place identity, international experience, initiatives and good practices, an analysis of the current situation in the cross-border region of Greece and Bulgaria, SWOT analysis and an evaluation of the programs implemented in the region in the past. It also includes the results of a questionnaire survey for evaluating the possibility of developing a destination brand in the area.
